About The Coral Doctor!

Milan, also known as “The Coral Doctor,” comes from a family deeply rooted in the aerospace industry. While her family focused on exploring space above, Milan found her passion in the underwater world below. She has maintained aquariums for over 20 years, beginning with freshwater systems before transitioning to saltwater aquariums in 2017. Discovering how rewarding the hobby could be, she became committed to protecting ocean ecosystems and preserving coral reefs.

Since 2017, Milan has built a strong presence within the aquarium hobby, recreational diving and ocean conservation communities. She leverages her legal education to research and promote sustainable solutions aimed at protecting declining reef systems, with a focus on ocean and coastal law and policy.

Milan holds certifications in Aquarium Maintenance, Global Warming, Marine Biology, and Harvard Business School’s Business and Climate Change program. Her training informs her understanding of how businesses are adapting their practices in response to environmental impacts on both land and sea to ensure long-term sustainability. She is a certified divemaster and mermaid instructor which allows her to take a more hands-on approach to her research and education for others.

She actively collaborates and networks with conservationists, environmentalists, scientists, researchers, divers, and mission-driven brands that share her goal of protecting the ocean and advancing public education around ocean advocacy and the blue economy.
